Whether you have a new building construction or a building refurbishment, this single-stage water source heat pump is an efficient and superior solution for all boiler applications. This water pump comes in variations that cope well with vertical, horizontal or down flow installations. The Aquazone™ 50PSV is for vertical installation. The unit uses Puron® refrigerant which is chlorine-free and environmentally friendly as it is non-ozone depleting. The model can be used for traditional installation or geothermal configuration, which is a factory-installed option.
Major Benefits
The solid reputation of manufacturer, Carrier, is completely justified in its Aquazone™ units. They are produced to the highest standards with durability, easy maintenance and efficiency in mind.
1. Reliability
The cabinet itself is manufactured from heavy G90 gauge galvanized sheet metal with a powder coated paint finish. Interior surfaces are well insulated with fiberglass or foil backed fiber insulation. This insulation has been specifically located to avoid glass fibers entering the air stream. This unit may be relatively expensive in comparison to others on the market, but it is built to last and should not need replacing for many years.
2. Noise Reduction
The rotary compressor has been mounted on isolation springs and rubber grommets to minimize vibrations and the resulting noise. Furthermore, it is contained in an insulated compartment, out of the path of the air stream to make the unit as quiet as possible once it has been installed. The fan motor has also been insulated for the quietest possible operation. Furthermore, there is a mute package available as an added extra. If space is a problem, then this model could even be installed in a bedroom closet, without being too noisy and disturbing the occupants.
3. Humidity and Temperature Control
The unit has a performance monitor, which tells users if the heat pump is operating inefficiently or abnormally, so the performance of the pump can be constantly and easily monitored.
An optional extra, the PremierLink direct digital controller, allows the operator to control zone temperature, zone humidity, discharge air temperatures, stages of heating and cooling and water temperature among other things.
With the optional IdealHumidity™ system installed, users benefit from intelligent fan-speed reduction, and a thermostat or humidistat will remove most of the moisture from the air stream, providing cooler, more comfortable air conditioning.
Few models offer the operator such high levels of control in so many different areas.
4. Installation and Maintenance
Being pre-wired and factory charged with Puron® refrigerant, this unit can be installed in minimal time. Furthermore, the compressor can be easily accessed for maintenance and cleaning from three separate sides, with the removal of large access panels. Permanently lubricated bearings have been used in the blower units, so they should perform well indefinitely. The control box is easily removed, and this provides easy access to all the refrigeration components. Although it is always necessary to get professionals to carry out an installation of this type, this model should cause little trouble at the time of installation and thereafter.
5. Geothermal installation
Despite the name, which can be misleading, the heat used by a geothermal water pump is actually heat originating from the sun, not the Earth, which is why some people prefer to call them ground heat pumps. Dependent on latitude, the temperature of the earth, 6 meters below the surface, remains at a fairly constant temperature of between 10 – 16ºC. With a geothermal installation, this pump is able to transfer heat from the ground to the surface in winter, and take heat away into the ground in the summer. Transferring heat from above the surface in the summer, is following the natural flow of heat, which is from warm to cool, and, therefore geothermal cooling takes less energy and cooling efficiency is often much higher.
For cooling EER (energy efficiency ratio) is normally calculated by BTU/hr/watt, and with geothermal installation, this model can reach a cooling EER of 28.1and heating COPs (Co efficiency of performance) can be as high as 6.
This pump is fulfills the LEED® certification for geothermal projects. LEED® is an internationally recognized certification for ‘green’ building design and construction solutions.
Money Saving
This pump really is a piece of state of the art technology, especially in regards to durability, functionality and versatility. However, the components and design of this pump also mean that, particularly with geothermal installation, it is one of the most energy efficient pumps on the market, and this in turn means reduced electricity costs.
